Measuring diagnostic competencies on the basis of case vignettes presents special challenges for the use of appropriate tools of data collection and analysis. This article summarizes the assumptions with regard to the measurement model at issue, classifies them from a test theoretical point of view and proposes an adapted measurement approach, on which our research project is based. In addition, the predictor Ki and all related parameters will be defined as well as the process of computing them when applied to our empirical data. Finally, the findings will be aligned with the theoretical competence structure model.
