The thesis deals with the importance of the natural space for a psychomotricity-motological personal development and health promotion. For this purpose will first be shown, which basic structures determine the interaction of man and nature, e.g. in the change of the understanding of nature, in the expression of social and individual concepts of nature, in connection with one´s own body, as well as the relation of man and (natural-)space. This is followed by the influence of natural spaces on individual human development and health over the entire life span. Basics of a ecological-psychologically-development as well as diverse studies on the effects of natural experiences from childhood to old age are summarized. After that, a comprehensive overview of all pedagogical and therapeutic disciplines, which make use of nature´s experience, will be given. Information about their origin and distribution, the aims, content and methods, the importance of movement and body, the understanding of nature and the effectiveness will be given fort the natural-sports pedagogics, adventure pedagogics, natural and environmental pedagogics, wilderness pedagogics, garden therapy, natural therapy and for animal-assisted interventions. The main focus is on the principle potentials and fields of experience of natural spaces, which can be used for developmental and health-promoting contexts in pedagogy and therapy. There is a wide range of arguments for the development of therapeutic and educational work in nature. Finally, there is a specification that shows how a psychomotricity-motological personal development and health promotion in the nature, can be systematized and praxeologically defined.
