Based on the method of frequency-mixing for the detection of magnetic beads as antibody-conjugated labels with small chromatography columns, several assays were developed and compared. Several sample matrices as buffer, serum and food matrices were tested with sequential detection methods as well as with magnetic separation and a fluidic system. Additionally, several commercially available magnetic beads were tested for their usability in this detection system and compared.
