Die wild wachsenden Fabaceae der Maltesischen Inseln

This thesis presents the morphology of the wild growing Fabaceae of the Maltese Islands Malta, Gozo and Comino. In total, 70 different taxa were found, representing about 9% of the wild flora of Malta. A detailed morphological description and photographic field documentation is given for every taxon. On the basis of these detailed descriptions, whitch have not yet been available for the Maltese Islands, several distinctions between Mediterranean and Maltese taxa, so far considered to be the same, could be detected. Medicago tribuloides Desr. was found for the first time on Malta, and the following rare or very rare Fabaceae on the archipelago could be ascertained: Anagyris foetida L., Spartium junceum L., Vicia bithynica (L.) L., Ononis biflora Desf., Ononis sieberi Besser ex DC, Medicago tuberculata (Retz.) Willd., Trifolium fragiferum L.
