This study describes the generation of a new, automatically generated 3D model of the human-hip. The femurshaft is create from a CT-dataset. The Method uses the solid-modeling (SM) technique to generate an individual parameterized femoral-head with a cartilage cap. Then a hybrid-model with the SM-part and the CT-generated shaft is created. It uses the finite-element method to calculate the von-Mises stress at the top of the cartilage and the boundary between the cartilage and the corticalis of the femoral head. The changes for some more parameters (leg-length, value and direction of the resultant of the hip-joint, ...) are calculated, too. In a next step a module is presented, that is able to perform an automated intertrochanteric osteotomie in the three degrees of freedom (varus, valgus / flexion, extension / rotating, derotating). The results of parameterstudies with different model- and osteotomie-parameters changed are presented and discussed.
