CGRP, adrenomedulline and PTHrP have been known for being vasoactive substances since the middle 80s. Up to now, research about their vasoactive potencial was only performed in cells and non-isolated organs. The isolated perfused mouse heart can show us an isolated view of the whole organ. Besides that, we know that there is a great homology of the mice genome to the human genome. We could show for the first time in the isolated perfused mouse heart that CGRP is a strong vasodilatating peptide adrenomedulline is a strong vasodilatating peptide PTHrP is a strong vasodilatating peptide CGRP and Adrenomedullin show almost identically effects used in the same concentration the KATP-channels play an extremely important role in vasodilatating effects of the peptides CGRP, adrenomedulline and PTHrP
