Time is a cultural concept, which varies from one society to another. Contemporaneous it is an essential category in the life of every single person. Especially the time of the pregnancy is formative regarding the time experience. The interdisciplinary field of the time perception is shown in the first part of the work, in order to proof this hypothesis. The second part expounds the history of pregnancy to indicate that the topic of pregnancy is handled sensitively only from postmodernism. The prenatal cultural science research shows that by the 21st century, at the latest, sexuality and pregnancy have been triply decoupled through contraception, abortion rights and artificial insemination. In the third part, the empiricism, guideline-oriented interviews of expectant parents will be analyzed, to finally establish, with the help of the Grounded Theory and in connection with the theories, the following hypothesis: In the 40 weeks of pregnancy, the social habitus changes, as there is more self-regulation. At this time, one's own present needs are subordinated.
