This publication contains the documents of the a workshop "science of religion between social sciences, science of history and research in cognitive capabilities", initiated by Prof. Gritt Klinkhammer (Bremen) and Prof. Edith Franke (Marburg) from the study group "Theory and Methodology in the Science of Religion" (Theorie und Methodology in der Religionswissenschaft, AKTUM). The ATKUM study group is afiliated to "German Association for the Science of Religion" (Deutsche Vereinigung für Religionswissenschaft, DVRW). Basis of the workshop was a paper by Prof. Hubert Seiwert, University of Leipzig, titled equal as the name of the workshop. All contributers of the workshop referred their contribution to Prof. Seiwert's statements. Therefore, the documentation of the workshop offers different views on the topic, which is not only related to actual debates in the science of religion, but rather important for the identity and autonomy of science of religion within the academic disciplines.
