Truth not as a possession, but as a process of relational doing: The following thesis is dedicated to an ancient topic in the field of intercultural theology ¬ that of the concept of truth. In the de- and constructive, critical reflection on European theologies, "Postcolonial Studies" and critiques of a "Eurocentrism" have been visibly gaining weight in the German-speaking world for some years now. The work is a processual attempt to approach a classical topic of ancient and European intellectual history within intercultural and postcolonial discourse negotiations. This is done in four main sections which, on the one hand, are oriented towards the fields of discussion "Intercultural Theology" (3.) and "Postcolonial Theory" (4.) and, on the other hand, locate and follow up concrete traces within the broad field by means of two monographs by Catherine Keller (5.) and Mayra Rivera (6.). The work is framed by a double conclusion (7. and 8.), which is likewise preceded by a double introduction (1. and 2.). "Theological inferences about truth in intercultural and postcolonial discourse thereby arise less in a fixed definition of truth than in a struggle over the concept of truth or an approach to and emergence of truth in narrative and relational form (Kautzmann, Truth, 2)." The quote points to the mode of this work, which is also methodologically guided by the two designs: How do Keller and Rivera plausibilize, elaborate, shape, and unfold their different modes of thought regarding the question of truth? In the discussion on Rivera, especially concepts of the ancient, old-European transcendence discussion with linking postcolonial contemporary theories as well as cultural anthropological (Levinas) and liberation theological (Ellacuría) designs are discussed. The discussion on Keller is especially conducted with regard to the religious tradition of mystery as well as a theologizing against the background of process theology.
