Zusammenfassung:
In der frühen Entwicklung des Embryos sind Connexine von großer Bedeutung. Diese intramembranösen Tunnelproteine bilden Halbkanäle, Connexone, zwischen zwei benachbarten Zellen und ermöglichen so einen direkten Informationskontakt. Dies ist gerade während der Ontogenese notwendig, damit die verschiedenen Gewebe und Organe des Tieres geregelt und koordiniert entstehen können. Da in einem Gewebe unterschiedlich ausdifferenzierte Zellen vorhanden sind, ist eine variierende Intensität und Qualität der Connexin-Expression zu erwarten.
