As part of the discussion about education (Bildung after Wolfgang Klafki) and the "Art of Teaching" (Lehrkunst after Berg / Schulze), the aspect of the dramaturgy in three so called Staging Lessons (Lehrstücke) was investigated. Dramaturgy is one of the key methods in the methodical triad of the exemplary, the genetic and the dramaturgical principles. The tradition of dramaturgy from Aristotle to Hausmann and Schulze has been immanently corrected, expanded and verified on the basis of three current Staging Lessons with geographic focus. As a result it turns out that in dramaturgical didactics the spirit and purpose of the educational process (Bildung) has to be considered first as one of the main motives. After that the four classical fields of dramaturgy and the two others mentioned by Aristotle are applied. The thesis proposes a descriptive outline on the dramaturgy of Staging Lessons and offers a new definition of Staging Lessons that takes the dramaturgical point of view into account: Staging Lessons are like dramas themselves; they contribute to general education and are focused, they are full of suspense and biographically open, they use a vivid and metaphorical language. They are aesthetically designed, historically authentic and open to improvisation in the classroom.
