Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:The dissertation is comprised of four chapters, and the work discusses the relationship between the hermeneutics and homiletics of Rudolf Bultmann and Dietrich Bonhoeffer. The first chapter ,“Introduction”, displays the connection which exists between the two in that they were concerned about a particular method in presenting the Gospel. “Rudolf Bultmann s Hermeneutics and His Sermons”, is the second chapter, and in this portion of the dissertation Bultmanns distict method of interpreting the New Testament is discussed. This chapter also views several of his sermons which he preached in Marburg from 1934-1950. The third chapter, “Dietrich Bonhoeffer s Practical Exegesis and His Hermeneutics”, is a study of his method of biblical study as seen in particular in his book “The Cost of Discipleship”. This chapter also discusses his prison correspondence and the implications of these many letters which he wrote while in a concentration camp. This section discusses the differences between his and Bultmann s method of biblical study. The fourth chapter, “Comparison of Rudolf Bultmann and Dietrich Bonhoeffer”, summarizes their similarities and differences in their procedures of explaining the meaning of Scripture for their times but also discusses the differences in their life situations. The dissertation attempts to objectively view their methods of biblical interpretation and how they expressed their research in their writings, preaching and teaching. Both concluded that presenting the gospel in a relevant manner is the ultimate message for humankind today.
