Table of Contents: The work in this dissertation focused on innovative contributions to the field of organometallic synthesis of novel chelating carbodiphosphorane ligands and their complexes. For the first time, these carbodiphosphoranes were examined regarding their ability to act as templates within photoluminescent complexes, which can be used in OLED devices. Furthermore, their frontier orbitals were examined in the ground state as well as in excited states using quantum chemical calculations, contributing to the fundamental understanding of their absorption and emission properties.
