Within this dissertation three different projects are discussed. The underlying theme of all projects is the application of computational and/or statistical methods in order to decrease the experimental effort and to increase the information output at the same time.
Lewis acid activation of the CBS catalyst was investigated using DFT theory. A new electrosynthetic approach for the synthesis of aryl iodides was developed using design of experiments. In a third project, a new iodide(III) mediated synthesis of isochromanones was investigated.
