The discussion of the herein presented results on ortho-functionalized phosphorous ylides is divided into two parts: as the main section of this thesis, chapter II presents new developments in the chemistry of carbodiphosphoranes; in chapter III, the derivatization of triphenylcyclopentadienylidenephosphorane, the so-called “Ramires ylide”, is described. Through X-ray diffraction experiments, NMR, IR, UV/vis, fluorescence, and EPR spectroscopy, as well as mass spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry, structural, chemical, and spectroscopical properties of the novel ligands and its main group and transition metal complexes were investigated.
