The aim of this work should be ‐ on the model of ( Koller, Eatough et al 2006.) to give an overview of the MRI machines and to present the extent to which quality assurance is carried out. Here, a focus was set on the exact implementation of quality assurance, the acceptance of quality assurance and self‐assessment of the quality of the own data. Methodology: The study consisted of a cross‐sectional survey. 192 questionnaires have been sent to clinics and institutes. The number of clinics participants in the survey and institutes amounted to n= 71. Results: There is no doubt about the fact that quality assurance is necessary. How exactly quality assurance should go, was not uniformly understood at the time of the survey. Depending on the coil for measuring, a different temporal approach in the implementation of quality assurance was elected. Quality assurance was traded to a high percentage of the service technician, who routinely visited the clinic or institution in certain time intervals. The signal‐to‐noise ratio could obtain as the most utilized parameter for a quick overview of the quality of the measurement data. Various other parameters were also included, depending on the clinics or institutions. The assessment of the quality of the own data was acceptable, but was better assessed when a quality assurance was carried out.
