Kurzfassung auf Englisch: The aim of this work was the development of new ligand systems for constrained geometry complexes of the rare earth metals and the investigation of various effects of the ligand design on the catalytic activity in polymerization reactions. Chapter I deals with the synthesis and characterization of iminophosphorane (CpSiNP) and guanidine (CpSiNC) functionalized ligands bearing an additional, very basic nitrogen donor functionality. Furthermore, the syntheses of CpSiNP and CpSiNC rare earth metal complexes are described in this chapter. In chapter II cyclopentadienylidene phosphoranes are presented as building blocks for diylidic CpPC constrained geometry complexes. The synthesis and characterization of various CpPC phosphoniumiodide isomers, neutral CpPC compounds and CpPC lithium salts are discussed in chapter II as well. In chapter III the application of the presented functional molecules in the ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolacton is described. Additionally, cationic species of the new CpPC complexes could be generated and applied successfully in the polymerization of isoprene.
