In Vaccine production it is essential to obtain the wanted antigens (HA and NA) in a short time, to protect the population from circulating influenzaviruses. When human influenzaviruses are incubated on eggs they obtain mutations in HA and NA which can lead to unsatisfactory vaccination efficacies. To avoid such mutations it is an atvantage to use cell culture. Furthermore it is important to produce the highest amount of virus in shorter times. For this purpose a new donorvirus was established which showd the best groth on the MDCK33016PF suspension cell line. Comparison with the commonly used PR8 Donorstrain revealed that the new established NB # 105 Donorstrain ist superior in growth on MDCK33016PF cells and on Eggs. Mutational analysis showed that the growth is applicable when NA and HA are exchanged and better than PR8.
