Emotion and motivation are discussed as interdependend constructs. In this work the influences of situations as well as the influences of personality dimensions on emotion and motivation were investigated. Varying emotion and motivation in an imagination task moderator effects of the behavioral activation system (according to Gray) were observed. Main result is the control of action inhibition by the behavioral activation system.
