Summary:
This article considers the ways in which Japanese religions interact with the internet and other media. One might imagine that in this age of new technologies, advancing through a globalized culture, the relations between religions and the media would assume rather similar characteristics wherever you go. However, this is not always the case. For this reason, after noting various widely recognized features of “mediatized” religion worldwide, I present some key features of the Japanese scene in this regard, concentrating on the use of the internet in the communication of religious systems.
