As MJR operates through an online system for the submission and review of manuscripts, please use our style sheets for articles and reviews.

Please note that these templates only display correctly if you have installed the typefont Gentium Plus on your computer, on which see the Notes for Contributors.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission only uses texts and illustrations for which the authors have the necessary usage rights
  • The submission has not been published elsewhere in this form and is not currently under review with another journal.
  • The submitted file is in one of the following formats: .pdf, .docx, .odt

Copyright Notice

Overall copyright is assigned to Marburg Journal of Religion. Authors retain copyright for individual contributions and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
An author may give permission for an article published here to be published elsewhere, provided that the source is indicated in the form "First published in Marburg Journal of Religion, Volume 00 (year), Number 00".
