Ines Braune, Arab Studies

is an assistant professor at the Center for Near and Middle Eastern Studies (CNMS) at Philipps-University Marburg. She holds a PhD in Arabic Studies from Leipzig University and has a background in media studies. Her research interests include cultural studies, media and youth in the Arab world. She is also interested in the institutionalization of knowledge production and research ethics, especially with an eye on new media. email: ines.braune@staff.uni-marburg.de

Achim Rohde

is the scientific coordinator of the research network “Re-Configurations: History, Remembrance and Transformation Processes in the Middle East and North Africa” at Philipps-University Marburg. He holds a PhD in Islamic Studies from Free University Berlin. His research interests include the modern and contemporary history of the MENA region, in particular Iraq and Israel/Palestine, as well as the history of Oriental Studies in Germany. email: achim.rohde@staff.uni-marburg.de
