Zusammenfassung:
Die Endodontie stellt einen wichtigen Bestandteil der konservierenden Zahn-medizin dar. Dabei spielen die gewissenhafte mechanische Aufbereitung, das Spülen des Wurzelkanalsystems, sowie die Wurzelkanalfüllung eine entschei-dende Rolle für die Überlebensdauer des Zahnes. Kommt es zum endodonti-schen Misserfolg aufgrund der Nichtbeachtung dieser Maßnahmen, ist die Re-vision der Wurzelfüllung die Therapie der Wahl. Ziel dabei ist, die alte Wurzel-kanalfüllung möglichst vollständig zu entfernen. Misserfolge bei der Revision sind oftmals auf verbliebene Mikroorganismen in Dentintubuli oder Lateralkanä-len zurückzuführen. Verbliebenes Wurzelfüllmaterial aus Ausbuchtungen, Den-tintubuli sowie Seiten- oder Lateralkanälen ist aber auf konventionellem Wege mit maschinellen Revisionsinstrumenten alleine nicht zu entfernen. Hier können aktivierte Instrumente eine zusätzliche Option darstellen. Ziel war herauszufinden, ob die Entfernung von Wurzelkanalfüllungen mit oder ohne Lösungsmittel zu Unterschieden hinsichtlich des Hineinpressens von Ob-turationsmaterial in die simulierten Lateralkanäle führt.
