Zusammenfassung:
Pulmonales Surfactant und seine Proteine übernehmen vielfältige Funktionen, bisherige Studien bei Surfactant Protein D defizienten Mäusen zeigten pathologische Veränderungen der Lungen, die Ähnlichkeit zu denen einiger Krankheitsbilder zeigten, die mit entzündlichen und parenchymdestruktiven Prozessen der Alveoarsepten einhergingen. Ausserdem zeigte sich eine gestörte SP-D Homeöstase und reduzierte SP-D Level in den Bronchien und Alveolen bei Patienten mit COPD, cystischer Fibrose oder ARDS, so dass das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit durch eine ultrastrukturelle Analyse am Elektronenmikroskop Veränderungen der Alveolarmorphologie zu quantifizieren, die auf einen SPD knockout zurückzuführen sind und sie im Verlauf der Zeit zu beobachten.
