The molecular background of the Genesis of neuroendocrine tumors of pancreas (NPTs) are farely unknown. In former studies the influence of different chromosomes and also the influence of chromosome 11p was shown (Chung et al., 1998; Stumpf et al., 2000; Rigaud et al., 2001). Therefore in this study we analyzed 29 NPTs by choosing 12 different Microsatellite Markers in an LOH- Analysis. All in all 20 of 29 (69%) of the tumors showed at least one LOH. The highest rate of LOH was to be seen with the marker D11S554 and D11S1985 with 43%. The chromosomal regions with the highest lost-rates were located by well known TSGs (KAI1, EXT2, Islet-Brain,...), whose influence in the Genesis of NPTs has to be shown in following studies. We focused on the TSG WT1 and analyzed a Hot-spot Region without finding any Mutations or Disarrangements that could sign an influence in NPTs. Finally our study should be followed by studies with a high number of patients/ NPTs to give a more detailled information about the influence of chromosome 11p in the Tumorgenesis of NPTs.
