The target of this study was first to measure the effects of a six-month pysical fitness-training following nautilus-priciples at 31 healthy, untrained persons at the age of 20 to 45 years, second to see the effects of the exercise on cardiopulmonary fitness. The exercises were reliable and well accepted by all persons, they absolved during six month 48 to 60 exercise units from 29 to 36 minute per unit. After six month of exercise there was a significant weight loss from 77,8 +- 8,6 kg to 76,7 +- 8,9kg. The average pulse frequency decreased during this time from68,5 +- 3,7 to 65,6 +- 2,6 bpm. During the exercise time there was no significant difference of the average blod pressure. The average cardiopulmonary fitness decreased during the time at 33,2 +- 1,2 %. Ther were no significant effects of the exercises on pulse frequency, blood pressure or lactate concentration during the exercise time. So there is a significant effect of nautilus-based training to cardiopulmonary fitness of healthy persons at the ag of 20 to 45 years.
