In this study the results of stress-strain-experiments with flexor-tendons of pigs that have been sewed by different almost well-known suture techniques. Main aspect of the experiments are to carry out the tensile strength of different stitch materials and suture techniques as well as the magnitude of the dehiscence effected by them. The exact moment of a beginning dehiscence is documented by video, stress and strain are measured automatically by a testing machine (shimazu autograph). This new procedure is introduced as picture-sequence-analysis (Bildsequenzanalyse). On the basis of this new experimental technique and the given results a new flexor-tendon-repair technique has been developed, the so-called Marburger Sehnennaht I and II. The advantage of this new flexor-tendon-suture is to enable an early postoperative mobilisation due to it`s excellent stress-strain-behaviour by receiving the vascular support and minimizing the effect of the suture on the slipping resistance within the flexor-tendon sheath.
